Yoga is a system of philosophy, although originating some 5,000 years ago in India, it remains a helpful way for all of us to balance our chaotic, more modern everyday lifestyles. Water provides us with Life and is fantastic, extraordinary and completely unique. Aqua Yoga offers a gentle way for women to exercise whilst pregnant to help you enjoy your pregnancy. Support is given by the water to the body which offers a greater freedom of movement; stretches and breathing are enhanced in ways that simply can’t be achieved through exercising on dry land. With the water’s faithful support, our Aqua Mums are able to move comfortably and relax even later in their pregnancies.
How Aqua Yoga can help you:
- Bond and feel close to your baby long before birth.
- Open your pelvis & make space for your baby.
- Make friends & together enjoy the gravity free environment.
- Reduce stress levels, relax deeply & improve your joie de vivre!
- Strengthen & stretch your abdominal muscles – helping no more hunched backs during pregnancy.
- Prepare for birth – gain control over your pelvic floor muscles so they can be realxed during childbirth.
- Enhanced breathing and deeper breath control.

Become at one with the water and your baby… In our classes you will learn how to make space for your baby whilst enjoying gentle stretches that will help to strengthen and tone your body, and deep breathing exercises to relax and promote a greater experience at this wonderful time.
No previous knowledge of yoga is needed to enjoy these classes. Any exercise on dry land always acts against gravity and has an impact. Because we use the buoyancy properties of water, this form of exercise has a unique & magical feel of being weightless. We learn asanas within the water itself, and combined with our swimming, this truly is a wonderful and safe form of exercise.
From week 14 of your pregnancy you can join and continue until week 40 & beyond. We have small, friendly classes – so booking your space is essential.
